- 10 hours shifts.
- Rotating weekends.
- Some Holiday work required.
- Prepare and plate food for patients.
- Keep kitchen in a neat, clean and healthy working environment.
- Receive food and stock, monitor deliveries, place food or stock in the proper areas.
- Complete daily cleaning and detailed cleaning of kitchens and kitchen equipment.
- Follow the guidelines set by the Cabell County Health Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or GED preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Previous similar work experience in a health care setting is desirable but not required.
- Must be able to deal with patients, family members, visitors, public and Hospice staff under varying conditions with a positive and professional attitude.
- Must possess a current Cabell County Food Handlers Card.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to read and follow directions and recipes.
- Must be able to monitor food quality and temperatures to be within the critical control points.
- Must be able to lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work with high-temperature foods and equipment.
- Must work with sharp utensils and equipment.
- Philosophy must be compatible with the hospice concept.
